On January 30, 2024, the world lost a remarkable woman whose impact has left an indelible mark on our community. Mary Elizabeth Earl Maltman, a beloved figure in the Seattle area, passed away at the age of 101, leaving behind a legacy that extends from the halls of The Children’s School (TCS) to the wider world of social justice and community service.
Along with her friend, Eunice Roselle, Mary founded The Children’s School in 1966. In her continuing commitment to our school, we are profoundly touched and deeply grateful to announce that Mary has generously included a bequest of $30,000 in her will to support our mission. This extraordinary gift will have a lasting impact on our community and on the lives of the children we serve.
At TCS, our commitment to providing a nurturing, creative, and educational environment for young learners has always been at the heart of our work. We are grateful to Mary’s kindness and vision in founding and supporting this work.
Once again, thank you, Mary Maltman, for your incredible support and for believing in the value of early childhood education. Your legacy will live on in the countless lives you have touched through your generous gift.
