Volunteers

Volunteers play a critical role at TCS helping us create a safe, caring and nurturing environment for young children, while also enjoy a supportive environment, meaningful work. A successful background check is required. Parents of current students are encouraged to participate (in a different classroom) as well.

If you would like to volunteer, please email a completed application form to us at admin@tcsseattle.org to tell us a little about yourself and which role(s) you would be interested in. Thank you!

Volunteer Opportunities

Playground Buddies - Join our little ones on outdoor adventures! We walk to Green Lake Playground or around our neighborhood every day, weather permitting. When we can’t go outside we make sure to still get lots of movement inside. Monday - Friday 10:30am - 11:30am.

Garden club - Come share your love of nature, and help us grow our garden beds! We need someone that can take the lead on caring for our little garden space (two beds) with planting seeds, weeding, etc. The children will handle the watering! Bring your work gloves and favorite garden tools. We can't wait to see the garden club flourish. Flexible timing for garden maintenance since you could freely access it outside, but we’d love a chance for you to occasionally work with the children in the mornings to share your love for the garden with them!

Special Guests - Share your talents, traditions and passions with our little ones! This can be ongoing or one-time depending on the specifics. Honor the languages and cultures represented by our little ones by reading or sharing stories, singing songs and playing games in your language. Help us celebrate holidays by sharing your family’s cultural traditions with our kiddos. Share your talents in music, art, theater, etc through one-time presentations or ongoing activities. Availability within Monday - Friday 9-11am.

Other Skills & Talents - Share your special skills and talents with us! We have many opportunities to put your skills and talents to use! We have particular needs for legal, human resources, graphic design, communications and data/evaluation skills. Also open to workshops  and presentations to staff or parents.
